Ive been a Yardbirds fan since I saw them in Beaumont Texas on 10.31.66! I was already in a band and went with our lead guitar. After the show we both agreed we needed BIGGER amps! Thanks for showing us the way!

Turns out that show was also the first after Beck left. Sounded great to me!

I've been a hardcore YARDBIRDS fan since 1965. Saw them twice in 1966 in Texas. My brother had to sneak me in, as I was only 13 years old at that time. I had already attempted to play guitar, but seeing you guys did the trick! Thanks for all the music, and you will always have a fan in Austin, Texas. Chris Dreja actually shook my hand, in 1966, for a grown man to shake the hand of a little twerp-fan was the ultimate mark of a "peoples band" Again, thanks, and keep it coming...

Saw the Yardbirds at the Warwick Uni Coventry UK along side the Zombies , excellent show, really enjoyed Ben King great blues guitarist, loved Billy Boy, interested to know he was a Belfast boy as my daddy came from Whiteabby Co Antrim, but all respect to Chris Dreya and Jim Mc Carty for keeping the faith, I have a magazines from around 1966 of the band with of Eric Clapton, nearly brought them with me , wish I had now.

Jim McCarty asked me not to tell anyone when I asked him for a pair of drumsticks as a souvenier from the Yardbirds show during Milwaukee's Summerfest gig, but I have to tell someone now that the tour is over. WOW JIM...a BIG Thanks...for the sticks...I enjoyed your show and boy you guys had the area packed and the Yardbirds proved to America that you guys are truely IT MAN!!! Milwaukee loved ya...the sticks are in their with my Louie Bellson sticks he gave me...and Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich slingerland original issues from the fifties, from a pal who owns his music store full of old stock for many years. Again Jim ...Thankyou rob.

When are The Yardbirds coming back to San Francisco? Soon, I hope. Hey, they should add this Graham Gouldman song that's playing to their set list. Dave Walker sounds just as good as he did when he was Savoy Brown. Great singing by both Jim and Dave

Born in 1951-Fan since For Your Love-Have every recording-1st favorite band The Original Animals-Thanks for being smart enough to give Hilton an opportunity to show his considerable talent-Burdon wasn't why their music was so good- and Hawken is the best British Invasion keyboardist (although Georgie Fame is still a force to be reckoned with. Don't ever quit Jim. You've lost nothing off your "fastball". -Bob in Reno

I was sad to hear that John Idan was leaving The Yardbirds he seemed to be a perfect replacement for Keith Relf. I just previewed his new cd on amazon, unfortunately none of the songs made me want to hear the whole song much less purchase one or the album. I can understand him wanting to do his own thing but it just doesn't come close to measuring up to his work with The Yardbirds. John, maybe it's not to late to reconsider? I'd love to be able to see him perform with The Yardbirds again.

Rock Man

December 15, 2008

Let me know when that jerk John Idan finally decides to leave The Yardbirds.

Saw the Yardbirds live back in the summer of '68 [pretty sure it was 68] at a ski lodge in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada...called Hidden Valley. Also fairly sure that both Beck and Page were there. Certainly Jim and Chris were. I've been a fan since '65. Owned all of the early days official releases both on record and subsequently on CD.

October 3, 2008

I am a great fan of the Yardbirds. I saw the concert last saturday in my hometown Horsens. It was fantastic and they are much better than any of the other bands that played. My brother saw them in the 60s, but I was to young. It is nice to have a chance to see them now. I have signatures from the band with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. Very Nice!
I really enjoy work of Ben King, really good! And John Idan is a real good singer and I hope to see more shows with him! He is fantastic! Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja are really good! Good to keep going!

Is Idan nuts? Why would he quit? He could have a solo career right alongside of his gig with The Yardbirds.

EL KABONG

September 4, 2008

I can't imagine anyone sounding as good with the Yardbirds as John Idan. I respect his decision but I wish he could have come to some kind of compromise where he could do his solo stuff AND be in the Yardbirds. Ultimately, only he knows what is best for his career...good luck to him

rob romero - milwaukee riverside theatre

September 2, 2008

Sorry to hear of mr. John Idan leaving the Yardbirds...he was fantastic with them and I for one will sorely miss his talents with the band. I wish him well.

I live in Louisville Ky and was fortunate enough to travel and see The Yardbirds twice over the last few years. I've been spreading the news however possible around here about how awesome the Yardbirds are in concert and managed to convince three other people to fly with me to Sellersville PA this year to see them in August. We booked our flight and got our concert tickets in the mail. I know stuff happens....but man I am totally bummed that this tour is cancelled!!! Especially since the plane tickets are non-refundable. I guess we'll go check out the Phillies or something...I hate baseball!

Audrey

June 11, 2008

I won 4 tickets from KRLA radio in LA for the Catalina island concert August 23 1966 I was 17 I'm now 60 and still rockin'! I met Jimmy Page, and the other guys in the band. I also ran into Frank Sinatra Jr. Mike Dodero was with me when I picked up the tickets in Hollywood. We stopped at a orange julius, and all of a sudden our dreams came true, and through the door, 2 Hispanic hotties, 1 for Mike, 1 for Steve we had to go meet her parents at their house in Pico Rivera, right next to my house in Downey before we drive to the marina and get on the big white steam ship we all got in my 52 Oldsmobile low rider, dropped by my pad to roll up a few party bombers, got on the Long Beach Freeway at Firestone, and was at the docks in 20 min. and, no I did not get laid mike got lost on the upper decks and passed out cold on the wet upper benches so I had to try and amuse the women tell we got back to shore, I found a perfect little nitch that we fit in ,we sat down and fired one up! if any of you crazy Yardbirds fans were at that concert just let me know, e me at steveandroff@comcast.net peace Steve
